Nokia N9 could receive Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich port

The Nokia N9 is the company’s first and last MeeGo product. The device itself sports a rather interesting design with decent specs to boot, and for Android fans around the world, if you wished that Nokia had gone with Android instead of Windows Phone, you might be in luck as developer Alexey Roslyakov, who is part of the NITDroid team, has revealed via his Twitter what appears to be Android 4.0 running on the N9.

Unfortunately this appears to be a rather early build and all his Twitter revealed was that it was work in progress. We’re not sure how far Alexey has progressed, but hopefully it won’t be too long before a working beta sees the light of day. Fortunately for MeeGo fans out there who love the Harmattan UI, the good news is that Alexey has also revealed that he is working on creating a dual-boot setup, allowing users to swap between Android 4.0 ICS and the Harmattan UI.

If you’ve ever wondered what Nokia phones would look like with Android on it, this might be it. In the mean time if you want to keep yourself up to date with the progress of the port, you might want to follow Alexey on his Twitter.
