Nokia Lumia 800 withstands MACH 5 speeds
If you’ve ever wondered how durable your Nokia Lumia 800 Windows Phone device is, the folks over at noknok.tv have got the answer for you. They wanted to find out if the Nokia Lumia 800 was capable of surviving a fall from a jet going at MACH 5 speeds. Since they didn’t have a jet around for the job, they decided to put the phone through a miniature wind tunnel to recreate the same conditions. The wind tunnel was used to blow blasts of high-temperature, high-pressure air at MACH 5 speeds (5x the speed of sound) directly at the phone.
Needless to say, the phone survived the “drop”, but it suffered quite noticeable wear and tear around its edges. I guess to say this goes to show that Nokia still has it when it comes to build quality – after all, its old feature phones were known for being extremely durable in the first place.
