Mint (finally) lands on Android Tablets

Mint, the acclaimed personal finance tool, is now available on Android tablets, in addition to the iPad. According to Intuit, the company behind Mint, Android has become a must-have platform as 40% of tablets are expected to be running on Android in the near-future. The Android version of Mint should offer a similar experience to the iOS one.
If you are not familiar with Mint (the online service), it is a web-based personal finance manager that launched in 2007 before being acquired by Intuit (the folks behind TurboTax) in 2009 for $170M. Mint has a few things going for it:

1. Mint is very well designed, and if you look at the average bank website, you’ll understand what I mean.
2. It gathers your financial data (credit cards, bank accounts…) every night so that you don’t ever input it by hand.
3. Mint tells you how you can optimize your finances.

Interestingly #2 is the reason why Mint founder Aaron Patzer created the company: after spending an afternoon of tedious financial paperwork, he thought of ways to improve this. However useful, I can’t stress enough how Mint’s design has been (and still is) instrumental to its success. Did I mention that it’s free?
