At the top of the line in the category is the Cyber-shot DSC-W650 that boasts a 16.1 MP Super HAD CCD image sensor, a Carl Zeiss 25mm equivalent lens with 5X optical zoom, a 3.0-inch LCD screen, and enhanced Optical SteadyShot image stabilization technology. The camera captures 16.1 megapixels still images and shoots 720p HD movies.
On the software side, the DSC-650 comes with the Intelligent Auto mode (iAuto) that automatically optimizes camera settings based on the external environment with 33 scene recognition patterns, and a fun 360° Sweep Panorama mode. The iAuto feature analyzes focus, lighting condition, subjects (and more) and selects the matching scene mode to help users achieve the best image quality without thinking about it.
Thanks to the four “Picture Effects”, you can also create artistic images using effects that include Toy Camera, Partial Color, Pop Color and Soft High-key.
The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W650 will be available in silver, black and red in February 2012 for about $150.
