Sensics SmartGoogles offer 3D, 360-degree gaming
[CES 2012] Sensics kicks off their CES campaign this year with the new SmartGoogles, which is a new 3D, 360-degree gaming and entertainment platform. We did give it a brief mention sometime late last month, and as all things in life where the good stuff comes to those who wait, Sensics’ SmartGoggles technology too is worth your patience if it is properly executed. This new pair of gaming and entertainment goggles are not only mobile, but is powerful enough to deliver real-time, first-person 360-degree tracking of the hands. This will definitely include intelligence, natural interaction, and true portability which might just usher in a new era of goggle designs down the road.
SmartGoggles will feature an embedded processor that is powered by Google’s Android operating system, allowing it to run applications in a standalone mode. The goggles can also be paired to game consoles, phones, tablets, or computers so that 3D display and sensing services are made available for these host applications. SmartGoggles was designed to be able to run just about any Android application, can hook up to the cloud, and communicate with a wide range of surrounding devices. [Press Release]
