As to when this will be complete and ready for consumer consumption? Well based on what Samsung’s revealed during an interview at CES last week, work on the joint venture is currently underway but it is unknown as to when the project is expected to see its completion. For those used to Bada, the good news is that Tizen will be able to support mobile apps written with Bada’s SDK and will be backwards compatible.
Ultimately the plan is also to provide both Bada and Tizen developers with the same SDKs and APIs, which will allow Bada developers to code for Tizen, and vice versa. Will this result in a stronger Tizen operating system (which sees some technology incorporated from MeeGo) that will be able to challenge the current smartphone platform leaders? We guess only time will tell.
