Samsung Galaxy Player 3.6 launches in South Korea

Interested in getting yourself an Android powered media player? Well if Sony Ericsson’s Live with Walkman Android media player efforts failed to make an impression on you, not to worry as Samsung has recently launched their own Android media player in the form of the Galaxy Player 3.6 in South Korea. The device is currently available in South Korea as of 16th January 2012, and international availability is expected to be followed soon, although no specific dates were mentioned.

For those who might have forgotten about the Galaxy Player 3.6 which was announced some time last year, it will feature a 1GHz Hummingbird processor, a 3.6” 480×800 display, a 3MP rear-facing camera, a VGA front-facing camera and will pretty much feature what one can expect from an Android device save for the ability to make regular voice calls (we’re guessing VoIP apps should be fine). It will also provide access to the Android Market where users can download apps.

The Samsung Galaxy Player 3.6 will come in two sizes – 8GB and 16GB, with the former attached with a price tag of ₩200,000 (~$174), and the latter being priced at ₩240,000 (~$209). No word if these prices will remain consistent with an international launch.
