Raspberry Pi supports AirPlay
It’s been awhile since we’ve reported about the Raspberry Pi minicomputer, but it looks like things are going well for the device. It has been reported to have entered production earlier this week, which means we’re one step closer to having one of these machines in our living rooms (or wherever we have a TV/display with an HDMI port). While it can do a lot of things that we can do on our regular computers, did you know that it can be used to stream video and music from your iOS devices as well?
A developer has created an AirPlay app for the Raspberry Pi, which means you don’t have to fork out $99 for an Apple TV if you want to stream video from an iOS device to your TV – the $35 Raspberry Pi is more than capable of doing the job (there is also a $25 lower-spec version). Check out a video demonstration to see AirPlay in action.
