pureSilicon introduces new Kage USB and SATA SSDs

Users looking for some high performance drives might want to check out pureSilicon’s latest offerings in SSDs. Their new drives are part of their Kage 1 Series and will be available in the form of a USB 3.0 SSD or a SATA SSD which are apparently targeted at light enterprise users, and based on its price we can’t help but feel that these aren’t products designed for the regular consumer.

Starting with the Kage K1 SATA SSD, this drive comes equipped with eMLC NAND and will feature read speeds of up to 540MB/s and write speeds of 520MB/s. It will be available in capacities of 100GB, 150GB, 200GB, 300GB and 400GB and will easily set you back anywhere between $975 to $2575 (ouch!).

The Kage K1 USB drives on the other hand are slightly more affordable, at least when compared to the SATA SSD. The USB SSD measures 4.5mm thin and is apparently the same height as a USB port and will feature a unibody design. It features an SSD controller which allows it to perform 400MB/s sequential read speeds. It will be available in sizes of 60GB, 90GB, 120GB and 240GB and will be priced anywhere between $230 to $630.
