“The update will not be delivered to every Lumia 800 simultaneously, but rather will be staggered over the next two weeks through Microsoft’s standard update process. This helps each owner get the update without any hitches. Around half of owners will get the update in the next seven days, with the remainder over the following seven days.”
For those unfamiliar with the battery problem, there were reports by Lumia 800 owners that for some reason, they were unable to fully charge their handsets, which meant that full capacity could never be reached, thus rendering the phone dead in a matter of hours. The fix was promised by Nokia back December and it seems like they are keeping to their word. A good sign of things to come especially with their flagship Lumia 900 Windows Phone expected to see a launch in the US market over the next several months.
Any Nokia Lumia 800 owners out there who might have already received the update? If you have, we’d like to hear from you on the status of the update and if it has indeed addressed the problem as promised.
