Microsoft Kinect-powered theme park opens in South Korea

If you happen to live in South Korea in the Ilsan districts of Gyeonggi-do, or if you were planning on making a trip to South Korea, you might want to add this particular attraction to your itinerary. It seems that in the Ilsan districts of Gyeonggi-do, an entire theme park has been created which incorporates Microsoft’s Kinect technology, and combined with RFID wristbands, theme park visitors will be able to create avatar representations of themselves while interacting with the theme park’s various attractions.

Dubbed the Live Park, it reportedly features “the world’s biggest interactive 360 degree stereoscopic theatre”, and “the world’s most advanced avatar game in the world’s largest interactive projection square”, which apparently stretches out over 150 meters among other attractions. The park is said to be able to accommodate up to 3,000 visitors at once and boasts 65 attractions. While it does seem somewhat unfortunate that our friends in South Korea are the only ones who are able to experience this technological wonder, the good news is that the Live Park is expected to expand outside of South Korea and into North America, although no specific dates were given.
