Lenovo IdeaPad Y480 and Y580 all-purpose laptops
[CES 2012] Lenovo graces CES 2012 with a couple of notebooks from the IdeaPad range, where it intends to deliver high-performance processing power and graphical technology coupled with advanced multimedia features in order for it to boot up in a jiffy. The brushed metal cover and palm rest would certainly be pleasing to the eye, but I still don’t understand why notebook manufacturers cannot get the humble trackpad right, unlike Apple. Underneath the hood, you will find an Intel Core i7 processor, with a choice of 14″ or 15.6″ display, in addition to the latest Dolby Home Theatre technology and JBL-designed speakers that deliver rich audio without any vibration to the chassis of the Y480 or Y580.
Not only that, you can have up to 8GB of RAM depending on your budget, as well as up to 1TB of hard drive storage. For entertainment purposes, you can either opt for a Blu-ray drive if you want, or settle for the ordinary DVD drive. Additional connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, two USB 2.0 and two USB 3.0 ports, a 6-in-1 memory card reader, and HDMI support among others. A 1-megapixel HD webcam rounds off the list of features. Any takers?
