The prototype has been dubbed the “Completely Wireless TV”, and by completely they mean that both electricity and video signals are being transmitted to the television wirelessly. The video has its signals transmitted via WHDI (Wireless Home Digital Interface), while the electricity is being transmitted using a power-receiving coil that is located near the bottom of the the TV, while a power-transmitting device was stored in a box on which the TV was placed.
It’s a pretty interesting concept, and given how much emphasis we seem to place these days on wireless devices and what not, we wouldn’t be surprised if demand for such a “Completely Wireless TV” sees an increase in the future. What do you guys think? Is this a television you wouldn’t mind owning?
