There is just something about limited edition models – it is either make or break, and for the cheaper items such as what Nintendo has shown us in the past, that particular promotional model has proved to be successful to say the least. Well, Fujifilm follows suit with the Fujifilm X100 black limited edition compact digital camera, and to make sure it remains relatively exclusive, 10,000 units will be released worldwide – no more, no less. This makes perfect sense after Fujitsu was on the receiving end of many requests for a black version of X100 ever since the original model rolled out in March 2011. Just what will the limited edition package come with? Obviously the X100 black limited edition model is included, in addition to a genuine leather ever-ready case, a lens hood, an adapter ring and a protective filter.
There is also a message card that lets you know just which number your model is out of the 10,000 released. This is not the first time the X100 has had a special edition – previously, only 200 models of a tan leather edition was released, and I guess it sold out quickly to validate the release of yet another limited edition run, this time round in black. Cosmetic changes aside, everything else remains the same within.
