AntiCrop app for iOS “uncrops” your photos

Whenever you shoot a photograph, it’s always easier to capture a large shot and then crop out what’s uninteresting to make a better shot. But what about the other way around? What do you do then? Well, the folks over at Adva-Soft have recently released an app called AntiCrop for iOS devices that does just that.

With this app, you can “uncrop” images by expanding its borders and using the app’s algorithm to fill in the empty spaces with parts of the background. Naturally this works best with photographs that have repeatable backgrounds (i.e. similar colors or homogeneous textures like wide open skies, the sea, grass etc), and attempting to uncrop an image of something like a messy office workplace won’t give very good results.

AntiCrop can also be used to straighten images that are crooked and fill in the empty spaces created. And if you’re looking for a tool that can also perform regular crops on your images, this app does it. A pretty useful too especially if you’re an amateur photographer and you’ve got some images you’d like to save.
