Android app store holds banned apps
Remember the Prohibition? Somehow or rather, something that is banned seems to be more “desirable” to us, perhaps because there is a naughty factor attached to it. Android developer Kousik Dutta must have felt a tug on his heart to construct an alternative Android app store that will hold apps which did not make the grade to appear on Google’s Android Market. Among these apps will comprise custom ROMs, classic gaming emulators that were removed because of copyright complaints, unofficial tethering apps, Visual Voicemail apps, and one-click rooting apps amongst others. A one-stop shop for all the “bad boys” in the app world, so to speak.
An early version of the store is already in operation, and just in case you want to know who Kousik Dutta is, he is famous among the Android hacking circles as member of the CyanogenMod team, and is also the brain behind the ClockworkMod custom recovery console for Android devices. We do look forward to this banned app store as well as its progress in the coming months.
