Acer Aspire Timeline Ultra goes on for 8 hours

[CES 2012] Acer continues the Ultrabook game with their latest release, the Acer Aspire Timeline Ultra that approaches netbook-level battery life without having to weigh a ton. We are talking about an 8-hour battery life here, and as you know, Ultrabooks have far beefier hardware specifications for heavy duty mobile computing purposes compared to netbooks that can be considered as a “notebook lite” if you want to look at that category of devices in a different light. Boasting Acer’s Green Instant On feature for fast boot and resume alongside Acer Always Connect technology for remote access in a jiffy, even from sleep, you can be sure the Acer Aspire Timeline Ultra looks like a winner (on paper, at least). Being slimmer and lighter compared to previous Timeline generations, the new Acer Aspire Timeline Ultra measures just 20mm thin, and carries the latest Intel Core i processor to deliver a power-packed performance, while sporting dedicated graphics for intensive 3D gaming, and finding enough space to cram in a slim DVD-Super Multi optical drive to boot. As with the Acer Aspire S5, this model too, will come with Acer Always Connect so that you can be up to speed with your Facebook, Twitter and Outlook email accounts at all times even upon resuming activity.

Storage comes in the form of an SSD or hard drive, depending on what rocks your boat, while your ears will be treated to professionally-tuned Dolby Home Theater v4 surround sound, with notable connectivity options being served in HDMI and USB 3.0 flavors. Not only that, Acer has retained the Timeline design heritage by throwing in over 8 hours of battery life thanks to the PowerSmart long-life battery pack. There is no word on pricing, but the Acer Aspire Timeline Ultra is tipped to ship no later than March 2012.
