Acer Always Connect enables you to get online faster compared to conventional connections, ensuring better productivity and infotainment enjoyment. Whenever you leave your Facebook, Twitter and Outlook email accounts open, you can view updates instantly whenever you resume the Aspire S5 after taking a break, without having to press refresh or anything of that sort. Acer Always Connect will also let you wake up the Aspire S5 from a remote device such as a smartphone, paving the way for round-the-clock access to the gamut of documents, music, pictures and video files.
Coming in a curved chassis that is Onyx Black in color, the Aspire S5 sports a magnesium-aluminum alloy cover and palmrest that delivers a slimmer and sturdier form, and will also be the first Ultrabook model from Acer that comes with a smartly designed MagicFlip I/O port panel which is hidden right under the hinge. Pressing the MagicFlip key will open said panel, unveiling your connectivity options in the form of HDMI, USB 3.0 and 20 Gbps Thunderbolt. Other hardware specifications include an Intel Core processor, SSD storage, professionally-tuned Dolby Home Theater v4, a long battery life, and a chiclet keyboard. No idea on pricing, but expect the Acer Aspire S5 to ship in Q2 this year.
