ZTE V66 tablet inches past FCC
Yes, we do know that ZTE will be introducing more LTE smartphone devices to the US when the new year dawns upon us, but as for the tablet industry, what kind of products do you think ZTE has in store? Earlier this spring at CTIA Wireless, a 10″ slate device was mentioned to arrive sometime in 2H 2011, but nothing concrete has happened so far, with only 3 more weeks or so of the year left to go. I suppose ZTE likes to leave things to the last minute, as this 7″ tablet with LTE capability has just made its appearance over at the FCC, jumping through all the hoops required by the FCC to obtain approval in the process. The ZTE V66 will come with LTE band 13 which is actually Verizon’s version of 4G, but it even confirms that further with a blatant display of Verizon’s LTE logo right at the back.
Just what kind of hardware do you think we can expect from the ZTE V66 when you pry open the cover? For starters, there is a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, a 1,280 x 800 resolution display, 1GB RAM, a rather massive 4,000mAh battery, all running on Android 3.2 Honeycomb. Bear in mind that FCC approval does not equal to availability, but at least this is a step in the right direction.
