Yesterday we covered PowerSkin’s launch of the Gaming Skin for iOS devices, today it looks like they’ve got another Gaming Skin available – this time it’s for the Nintendo 3DS. If you’re wondering about why the 3DS would need additional juice, it isn’t like other Nintendo consoles. Mainly because, it features a glasses-free 3D display that isn’t known for being energy efficient. Coupled up with the camera and AR gaming capabilities, you can see why the 3DS doesn’t last as long as the NDS or Game Boy.
PowerSkin’s Gaming Skin for Nintendo 3DS aims to solve that problem by giving the console an additional 2,000mAh battery in the form of a protective case. In addition to extending your gaming sessions (up to 12 hours for 3D and 18 hours for 2D), the Gaming Skin for Nintendo 3DS also gives the console some additional protection in the event you accidentally knock or scratch the device.
The Gaming Skin for Nintendo 3DS is available for pre-order now and carries a price tag of $79.99.
