One-click WordPress database restore with Vaultpress

Everyone who is ready to pay ($15/mo) to have a reliable WordPress backup should check this out: Vaultpress, the real-time backup system for self-hosted WordPress blogs now features one-click, server to server database restore. This is pretty awesome for folks who know enough to get in trouble by doing something bad to the database. This could also help authors recover quicker from a WordPress database hack.

If you are not familiar with Vaultpress, it is a backup system from Automattic, the company behind WordPress.com and pretty much behind the WordPress platform. Vaultpress comes as a WordPress plug-in that backups your self-hosted blog by small chunks, in quasi real-time, which means that a few seconds after you posted something new, it has already been backed-up to the WordPress.com servers.

Vaultpress backups contain the full database, and every file and uploads that WordPress knows about, including user uploads and WordPress core files and plug-ins. Files uploaded outside of WordPress may not be backed up. In any case, this is a very interesting development for Vaultpress, and probably one step towards full site restore capabilities.
