Of course, both carriers and Nokia will keep things “hush-hush” until they are ready to announce but CNET says that the tests are indeed happening now, because Nokia wants to make sure that they have the best possible 4G solutions for carriers, and LTE is the top protocol these days. The real question is: how good would the battery life be?
Now, people wonder if Windows Phone is ready for LTE, but I personally think that this is more of a “modem driver” issue than an Operating System (OS) issue, so I would be very surprised if Windows Phone was holding things back. Anyhow, if the tests are going on now, it basically means that the software is working.
If you’ve missed it, read our Nokia Lumia 800 Review. We used the HSPA+ International version to write it, but besides the network speed and the battery life, the LTE version should feel pretty much the same.
