Nokia addresses Lumia 800 battery problem
Nokia has just shared their concern about the battery bug which has plagued select units of the Nokia Lumia 800 smartphone, where some units displayed lower battery capacity than expected. Nokia’s engineers apparently lost no time in checking things out, and they realized that there are no problems with the battery at all, but rather, the software is the culprit. This particular software issue affects only select variants, limiting the handset’s ability to access the full battery capacity. It must be said that the Nokia Lumia 710 does not suffer from this particular effect.
Good news though – it is not the end of the world, and this software issue can be rectified in a jiffy, where Nokia will be rolling out a planned software update early next year that will not only put to bed this bug once and for all, but will also introduce a slew of performance enhancements. For folks who are impatient and cannot wait for the software update, Nokia is willing to work and extend their customer service by delivering a replacement phone instead.
