Motorola DROID RAZR MAX in the works?

There’s been some rumors going around talking about a new device from Motorola called the DROID RAZR MAX. At the moment there’s nothing really concrete about the device besides some EXIF data that was spotted by the folks over at Pocketnow.com. Apparently the rumors started when a member of the razrforums.com went to a Verizon store with the intention of picking up the DROID RAZR, but was told by an employee that there was a RAZR MAX phone that was on the way.

The RAZR MAX is said to be a little thicker and will have a larger battery to address all the battery life issues that people have been having with the phone. Other than that there were no additional details about the phone. Now for all we know, the Verizon employee could’ve been just spreading a rumor or it could be the truth. The recently discovered EXIF data seems to corroborate with the story though it’s still far from a confirmation.

Could the RAZR MAX be just another name for the Chinese RAZR, which featured a 720p resolution, which was leaked a few weeks back? I guess we won’t know for sure until Verizon/Motorola issues an official statement. Stay tuned for more developments.
