As far as MacBook Air clones/imitations go, this one is pretty darn good, not only in terms of looks but in terms of its hardware specs as well. While companies like Apple are undoubtedly fuming at Chinese companies for infringing on their designs, as techies and consumers we can appreciate how these companies manage to squeeze some pretty impressive specs into such a similar looking device at only a fraction of its cost.
This particular MacBook Air clone features a 13.3” display with a resolution of 1368×768. It will also feature a 1.8GHz Intel Atom dual-core processor with 2GB of RAM and even a 64GB SSD. It too will come with a magnetic power connector, similar to that of Apple’s MagSafe power adapter, features 2 USB ports, HDMI port and a SD card reader.
It will also come with a built-in front facing camera, a keyboard similar to that of the MacBook series (with the exception of the Windows button) and a large trackpad, although we’re not sure if its multitouch capable. Interestingly it appears to have been made out of plastic and actually weighs 0.05kg heavier than the MacBook Air at 1.4kg. How much will all of this cost you? If you’re living in China, you will be able to pick up this MacBook Air clone for a mere 1,500 Yuan (~$237).
