We’ve had a number of jailbreaks for iOS 5.0 in the past, but they all left the phone in a tethered/semi-tethered state – which basically meant they wouldn’t be fully-functional when restarted without a computer. Well, it looks like those days are almost over because pod2g, an iOS hacker, has successfully developed a fully untethered jailbreak for the operating system. Uploading a video on YouTube, he demonstrated the phone booting up and fully-functional without the use of a computer.It wasn’t mentioned when pod2g will be releasing the jailbreak to the public, so I guess we’ll just have to sit tight for now.
