Alcatel One Touch 918 is a low-end Android device

For those shopping with tight purse strings, the good news is that Alcatel has announced the Alcatel One Touch 918 Android smartphone. The device has recently cleared the Bluetooth SIG and has even appeared on Alcatel’s website which seems to suggest that a launch is close at hand.

Now in terms of specs, do not expect anything grand as we had mentioned it will be a low-end Android device most probably aimed at the budget conscious in mind. It will feature a 3.2” HVGA touch screen, a 3.2MP camera, 3G and WiFi connectivity, GPS, Bluetooth and microSD card support and will run on Android’s Gingerbread 2.3.

An alternate version called the One Touch 918D will come with the same specs except this time round it will support dual-SIMs, allowing the user to connect to two networks at once. While pricing remains unknown at this point, given its specs we don’t expect the Alcatel One Touch 918 or 918D to be breaking the bank any time soon.
