If the sources turn out to be true, it looks like Intel will have more time to shape up its mobile processors to compete against the low-powered but powerful ARM processors that will be used to power next gen Windows notebooks. However, with no official release date of Windows 8 in sight, there’s no way to tell if the notebooks will even be announced at the end of 2012. But what we do know is that with Windows 8 being ARM-compatible, it looks like the reign of Wintel (Windows + Intel) could be coming to an end.
