TouchPad update offers Siri dictation
While the masses will most probably need to sit it out until the next major version of Mac OS X delivers Siri to the Mac platform, someone out there managed to enable its dictation capabilities to function with the Mac and PC immediately, thanks to Edovia’s TouchPad app that will run on iOS devices. The TouchPad is actually a $4.99 app that will work with your iPad and iPhone, transforming just about any iOS device into a bunch of remote input devices for your computer. Not only will you be on the receiving end of a virtual keyboard that will let you type on your Mac, there is also a trackpad that lets you control the cursor and a remote so that you can control media playback.
TouchPad 4.0 will come with always visible modifier keys, making it a whole lot more convenient to access keyboard shortcuts if you want to. Apart from that, it will also feature added support for even more media players as well as a handful of other new shortcuts. Additional changes include improved support for international keyboards, a superior help documentation as well as a more refined screen zooming gesture. Life has just gotten a wee bit more exciting, hasn’t it?
