Toshiba Portege Z835-P330 takes the Ultrabook route
Apple might have their MacBook Pro, but when it comes to the PC platform, Intel strikes back with their range of Ultrabooks across different vendors, and Toshiba would be one of them, where their latest offering is known as the Toshiba Portege Z835-P330. I guess for long time notebook users who have been so used to super heavy notebooks, where the weight seem to add up the longer and more you walk around, the Ultrabook is certainly heaven sent. While this latest Toshiba offering comes with a rather weak Intel Core i3-2367M processor, but you can’t really argue with the $879 price point, although those who are used to more powerful machines would do well to wait for the i5 version to roll out.
Other hardware specifications include 2GB RAM, a rather generous 128GB mSATA SSD which is average in terms of speed, sporting two USB 2.0 ports, a single USB 3.0 port to keep up with the times, the relevant headphone and microphone jacks, not to mention HDMI and VGA output; rounded off by a dedicated Ethernet port just in case you want to plug this into a wired network. Definitely more powerful than a netbook, and being light also helps – but we would have liked to see more beef in the Toshiba Portege Z835-P330.
