The device will be a glasses-free 3D Android smartphone with a 4.5” display, a 1GHz dual-core processor with 1GB of RAM under the hood, a whopping 12.1MP rear-facing camera, a front-facing camera, a microSD card slot and will run on Android’s Gingerbread 2.3, and as customary with almost all Japanese phones, it will come with a built-in TV tuner as well, a feature we’re sure will be removed if and when it arrives stateside.
The Sharp Aquos SH-01D is expected to land on NTT DoCoMo’s network in Japan come 2nd of December, no word when it will make its US debut. Although with Verizon filing a trademark for the “Hologram” name which seems to suggest a 3D phone, could the Sharp Aquos SH-01D be Verizon’s new 3D “Hologram” phone?
