Pantech P9060 to hit AT&T
AT&T’s most famous phone in its range in recent years would definitely be the iPhone from Apple, but since losing exclusivity to the phone in the US with the release of the Verizon Wireless iPhone 4, AT&T will need to look to other handsets to help them cover up some losses from subscribers who are absolutely loyal to Verizon, or to their current subscribers who have decided to jump ship once their current contract is up. A viable smartphone to sell would be an Android-powered one – those can be found just about anywhere and everywhere, and the Pantech P9060 is said to be the latest in AT&T’s lineup.
Running on Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread with a 4” display at 800 x 600 resolution and with a 4:3 aspect ratio, Pantech claims that the P9060 would be comfortably placed between a smartphone and an E-Book Reader in terms of product positioning. Other hardware specifications include a 5-megapixel camera and a rubber coated back so that even sweaty palms would have a hard time dropping it by accident. Definitely a phone right up my alley…
