Nokia has recently confirmed that they will only be allowing selected partners in the UK to sell their upcoming Nokia Lumia 800 Windows Phone handset. This was to clear the confusion earlier where Clove announced that the Nokia Lumia 800 would not be arriving until January of 2012. Carriers such as Orange, Vodafone and T-Mobile, and retailers like The Carphone Warehouse and Phones 4U will be selling the device on contract as well as SIM free (only from retailers, not available from carriers) come 16th of November as planned.
Other retailers such as Amazon UK and Clove will have to wait until January of 2012 before they will receive the Nokia Lumia 800 stock. Are these channels sufficient to help Nokia spread the word of their Windows Phone devices, or will this strategy backfire for the Finnish company? We guess we will have to wait and find out.
