LG 3D notebook picks up flicker-free certification

Here is yet another world’s first for those who are obsessed with records – LG’s 3D notebook recently picked up the recognition of the world’s first flicker-free certification. According to TÜV Rheinland, Europe’s authority on standards, they claim that LG managed to solve 3D’s most vexing shortcoming to date, that is, a viewing experience that is full of flickers which will obviously lead to headaches and perhaps even seizures in some people.

The LG 3D notebook in question would be the A530, where it managed to snag this particular certification from TUV after rigorous testing of LG’s 3D display on the notebook. Needless to say, the suits over at LG are pleased as punch, as this will definitely add more bang to their future advertising campaigns in an attempt to sell even more units of the A530 worldwide.

How is the flicker-free experience achieved? For starters, it relies on LG’s proprietary Film Patterned Retarder (FPR) screen with Full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution, so that images on the LG A530 are significantly brighter compared to those found on shutter glasses-type 3D notebooks. [Press Release]
