Leaked Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 auction ends at $1,725
Earlier this week, Kmart unknowingly put copies of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 up for sale, five days before its release date. Needless to say, copies of the game were snapped up and put up on eBay to be resold for oodles of cash. While most of the auctions were taken down, one of them remained online and was finally won today. The winning bid? $1,725. And this comes after a warning from Microsoft Xbox Live’s guru about playing the game early runs the risk of jeopardizing your account.
While we’ll never know if this was a publicity stunt, the winning bidder meant business or it was a fake account meant to troll the auction – one thing for sure is that this copy of Modern Warfare 3 is the most valuable thing ever sold at Kmart. How much are you willing to pay to get your hands on an advanced copy of a game before anybody else?
