Last.fm SpotifyEarlier today, Spotify Apps was announced, and now we get to find out more about the apps that will be available with the music streaming service. One of the apps that will be available is Last.fm, a music recommendation service that’s made its name for itself over the many years that it’s been around now. In case you didn’t know, Last.fm is a service that keeps track of all the songs you listen to with its scrobbler plugin and stores it in your profile.

You can then go through what you’ve been listening to recently, check out your most listened to songs and more, but most importantly – the service recommends new music that you should check out. The recommendations are based on the listening habits of all Last.fm listeners – all 40 million of them. And now with Spotify integration, Last.fm users can listen to new songs via Spotify, as well as the ability to track what they listen to on the service.

Spotify users can also obtain more information about the artists they are listening to via Last.fm and they can create playlists based on their listening habits. The Last.fm Spotify app should be available now from the App Finder.
