If you own a Kindle Fire, you might have noticed that Amazon has started pushing out a software update for the tablet today. In fact the update could already be installed and you don’t know it yet. The Kindle Fire has been configured to automatically download and install the update over a WiFi connection without any user intervention and there seems to be no way to prevent your device from updating (unless you turn off WiFi).
The update is said to remove root access; fortunately it isn’t permanent, as SuperOneClick re-roots the tablet just as easily. No mention of what improvements the update brings but there are reports of the buttons being more responsive and the carousel flipping becoming noticeably slower and smoother. If for some reason the update doesn’t get pushed to your device, you can update it manually. Let us know if you’ve noticed any other improvements with the 6.2 update.
