iPhone 4S runs into Wi-Fi issues?
It seems that with the release of the iPhone 4, everything was not peaches and cream – first of all, there was the antenna-gate issue, where holding the unibody chassis of the iPhone 4 resulted in dropped calls or signals for no particular reason (at first anyways), and now with the iPhone 4’s successor, the iPhone 4S, some folks have already complained about a bunch of issues including the battery drain problem, with the latest stream of complaints focusing on Wi-Fi connectivity. The former problem was not really fixed by the iOS 5.0.1 update, and 5.0.1 did not do much to make sure Wi-Fi issues were resolved.
Originally, Apple was touted to roll out iOS 5.0.2 (rumored to be this week to boot!), but it seems that memory leak problems had led to this update’s delay. As for the alleged Wi-Fi issue that users face, it seems as though the iPhone 4S is unable to join Wi-Fi networks or, when connected, have issues maintaining such connections. Are you one of those affected, and how does that change your perspective of the iPhone brand? Will you shift your attention elsewhere with your next smartphone purchase?
