HTC releases source code for the HTC Rezound

HTC has recently announced that they have officially released the Kernel source code for a variety of Android devices. These include the recently launched HTC Rezound, HTC Explorer (Pico as it is known in other parts of the world), HTC Desire S and the HTC Amaze (4G). If you’re a non-developer you’re probably wondering what’s the big deal, and here’s why. 

Unless you love using the stock UI and features that come with your Android smartphone, the release of Kernel source code would mean that developers and modders will be able to get their hands on it, report bugs and security holes as well as cook up apps and ROMs that should give you an entirely new Android experience, and one without all the carrier bloatware that may have come shipped with your device.
