Unless you love using the stock UI and features that come with your Android smartphone, the release of Kernel source code would mean that developers and modders will be able to get their hands on it, report bugs and security holes as well as cook up apps and ROMs that should give you an entirely new Android experience, and one without all the carrier bloatware that may have come shipped with your device.
