Google confirms Verizon’s Galaxy Nexus specs

Google has released the tech specs of Verizon’s Samsung Galaxy Nexus, which confirms that the carrier will be getting the handset. If only they would just give us a date already! The tech specs tell us pretty much what we’ve come to expect and know about the device, with some slight modifications which are expected due to Verizon’s model being of the 4G LTE variety.

It was mentioned back in Hong Kong when the Galaxy Nexus was unveiled that the 4G LTE version of the device would be on the beefy side. The reason behind this was because 4G LTE tends to drain battery really fast, so a larger battery was required to ensure the phone wouldn’t run out of juice before the end of the day (although this is highly dependent on usage).

As it turns out, while the rest of the Galaxy Nexus specs remain the same as the rest of the world, Verizon’s 4G LTE model will sport a larger battery at 1,850mAh over the HSPA+’s 1,750mAh. This also translates into a slightly heavier device with Verizon’s model weighing 150g, 15g heavier than the HSPA+ model and almost half a millimeter thicker as well.
