Word on the street has it that DoCoMo will, at long last, come to an agreement with Apple sometime next year, and the Wall Street Journal did confirm that both companies are still in the negotiating stage. Well, there are still obvious obstacles in the situation which has led to a standoff so far, but hopefully with DoCoMo and Apple, things will work themselves out in the end. According to Ryuji Yamada, CEO of DoCoMo, “If the introduction of the iPhone results in the mass majority of our products occupied by the iPhone, then that’s a scenario that’s difficult to us to swallow.”
I guess Yamada knows for sure that the iPhone will be an insane hit on his network, and considering his chief rivals, au/KDDI and SoftBank have already released the iPhone 4S last month, it makes the situation all the more urgent.
