Amazon Cloud Drive does not do App Store any more
We do know that Apple is really, really careful about what kind of content is made available on the App Store, but it can be rather disconcerting when you hear about news concerning rival apps being yanked as well – although the reasons for doing so can be justified legally. At the moment, a third-party app that enabled iOS devices to stream music via Amazon’s Cloud Drive has been removed from the App Store due to legal concerns, and there are also whispers floating around that Cupertino is also stalling the approval of an update for another streaming music app which will cater for Google’s music service.
aMusic, an app by Innovative Solutions, will be able to stream music stashed away in Amazon’s Cloud Music Locker to any iPhone, iPod touch or iPad. Apple claims that “legal issues” has prevented it from being approved – what do you think the real reason is? Hopefully Google and Amazon will be able to figure out a better way to offer such cloud services in the future without stepping on the toes of their competitor.
