As you can see in the photo above, the Protexo is a rather futuristic looking device and what it does is that it creates a layer of air, or a filtered “air zone” if you’d rather, that pretty much blankets the user below and helps to protect them from allergens or other irritants that might trigger an asthma attack in the middle of the night.
This is achieved via a temperature controlled laminar air-flow device as pictured above. It seems that when placed in a trial of a group of 282 atopic asthma, the results have been positive with reports of users experiencing less airway inflammation.
