Acer Iconia Tab A700/A701 quad-core tablet leaked

We know that Acer has plans to launch an NVIDIA Tegra-3 quad-core tablet with the Acer Iconia Tab A510/A511, but it seems that they have no plans to stop there. A profile posted on Acer’s servers revealed that Acer has plans for another quad-core tablet in the form of the Iconia Tab A700/A701.

This was discovered by HDBlog.it, and much like the A510/A511, the A700/A701 will also be running on NVIDIA’s Tegra-3 quad-core processor although exact speeds remain unknown for now. The recently uncovered tablet will also sport a resolution of 1920×1200, making this a tablet with a 1080p Full HD display while keeping to Android Honeycomb’s 16:10 aspect ratio.

However the size of its display remains a mystery at the moment. If the A510/A511 is a 10” tablet, would it be logical to assume that the A700/A701 will be a tablet of the 12” variety? A rather unusual size for a tablet but perhaps Acer could be trying something out of the ordinary. We’re guessing that the difference between the A700 and A701 is its connectivity options, with the former sporting WiFi only connectivity, while the latter will feature 3G connections. This will be keeping in line with Acer’s product models. It looks like 2012 will be a year filled with quad-core devices – definitely a year to look forward to.
