Because most of us can’t afford to buy a real F1 car to race around a track, we have to settle for buying a souped-up PC and an F1 racing simulator game instead. Since racing with the keyboard or gamepad isn’t exactly a very enthralling experience, manufacturers have come up with racing wheels and pedals to bring the experience to the next level. And while we can’t sit in the cockpit of a real F1 car, we can use accessories that mimic the real thing.
Thrustmaster’s latest racing wheel, the Ferrari F1 Wheel Integral T500 aims to give us that experience. Modeled after the interior of the F1 Ferrari 150° Italia, this life-sized replica of the car’s cockpit gives you an experience that’s as authentic as possible – minus the wind in your face and the smell of burning tires on the road, of course.
It features a rubber-textured grip, a life-size diameter, reinforced scratch-brushed metal face, two rotary encoder knobs for adjusting settings on-the-fly, eight dual-detent push-buttons, three automatic centering 3-position metal switches, two 8-directional D-Pads, and Push and Pull F1 shifters. A pedal set with 3 metal pedals complete the racing wheel which works for both the PlayStation 3 and PC.
The Ferrari F1 Wheel Integral T500 will be available this month at the suggested retail price of $699.99. Find out more.
