Steve Jobs biography hints at a TV from Apple

The official biography of Steve Jobs will be released on Monday, but a number of media outlets have already got their hands on the book and have been releasing snippets of it, bringing to light a lot of interesting details concerning Apple and Steve Jobs’ life. Well, in one section of the book, Walter Isaacson (the author) writes about a conversation he had with Steve Jobs about a product that is supposed to change the television industry – the same way that the iPhone changed the mobile world and the iPod to the portable music world.

Here’s an excerpt from the book which hints at the product Steve Jobs was talking about:

I’d like to create an integrated television set that is completely easy to use,” he told me. “It would be seamlessly synced with all of your devices and with iCloud.” No longer would users have to fiddle with complex remotes for DVD players and cable channels. “It will have the simplest user interface you could imagine. I finally cracked it.

Rumors about a TV from Apple (not to be confused with Apple TV) have surfaced before but never mentioned officially, and Steve Jobs’ words might have be as close to an official statement we may get anytime soon. Until then, there’s nothing for us to do but sit and wait.
