However much like the PSPgo, the PS Vita will be relying on digital games rather than UMD games, which means the problem still exists, but if these rumors are to be believed, it seems like Sony has plans that will allow gamers with UMD games to trade them in for digital copies.
Not much is known about the details of this alleged trade-in plan, which supposedly was briefed to retailers during a briefing held in Japan. Interestingly, when the PSPgo was announced, similar rumors of a trade-in program existed too but never really came into fruition. Could Sony be learning from their mistakes of the PSPgo or are they hoping that the significant hardware upgrade and features will be enough to convince PSP users to make the upgrade?
