Another interesting to note is that Sony Ericsson’s President and CEO, Bert Nordbeg, mentioned that the company will be “shifting the entire portfolio to smartphones during 2012.” So say goodbye to all Sony Ericsson feature phones by the end of this year, don’t expect to see them from the company again.
Sony Ericsson has previously mentioned that it aims to be the world’s largest Android handset maker, so it makes sense that it intends to get rid of feature phones. But compared to the Android giants like HTC and Samsung, Sony Ericsson has been pretty low-key in the industry, churning out solid Android devices now and then, but never staying in the spotlight for too long. Do you think Sony Ericsson has what it takes to realize its long-term goal?
