Not only that, Ericsson will walk away 1.05 billion Euros richer with this amicable parting, although in exchange Sony will is now the proud new owner of a broad IP cross-licensing agreement and ownership of five essential patent families. I have a feeling this is a good move – Sony’s sense of design will most probably spill over onto the smartphone arena, and who knows – we might start to see more winners coming out for the Android camp after this.
