Want to watch all your downloaded shows and movies on your TV but don’t want to deal with the hassles of setting up a network, buying a streaming player, or burning them onto discs? Seagate’s GoFlex Cinema drive is the answer to your problems. This simple to use plug and play device works just like a regular external hard disk, except that it has the capability to connect to your TV set.
When plugged into the idiot box, users can easily watch files directly from the hard disk. With support for MKV, H.264, MP4, as well as still images from a digital camera connected to the drive, the GoFlex Cinema media drive makes it easy to view your media on your TV with the least amount of setting up to do. Sure it doesn’t beat streaming, but hey – this works when your router is down, plus you can easily bring it over to a friend’s house to share your video collection.
No word on a US release date but the GoFlex Cinema media drive will be sold in Europe at €99 ($136) for 1TB, €129 $177) for 2TB and €179 $246) for 3TB.
